GROUNDHOG DAY is here and we are predicting the season of 2023!

The arrival of spring has come! Make sure you bring your SPF!


The legend is simple. The groundhog's shadow on February 2 predicts the weather for the next six weeks, until the start of spring. A sunny day means the groundhog will see his shadow – this is a sign that the next six weeks will bring wintry weather. A cloudy day means the opposite.

Even though this year Punxsutawney Phil predicted six more weeks of winter, with all due respect, we are predicting the arrival of spring sooner than that. Today is a sunny day (14°C) in Split and we are predicting the arrival of spring very soon!

As Groundhog day predicts the arrival of spring, we are safe to say that the Dalmatian coast in southern Croatia - including Split - is the warmest and the sunniest part of Croatia with a long summer season that runs from May to October. 
The coldest month in Croatia is January, with an average temperature of 9.4°C (48.9°F).
